DERMAL FILLERS
Smooth away lines and wrinkles and restore lost volume

DERMAL FILLER IN NYC AND QUEENS, NY

Dermal fillers, like Juvederm, are injections used to smooth away facial wrinkles and folds in one's face. If you are seeing age-related volume loss in areas of your face, cheeks, as well as in your under eyes, or if you are looking to add volume to your lips, dermal fillers may be an aesthetic treatment option for you.

The Juvederm collection of fillers is made from hyaluronic acid which is a natural substance already in your skin.  When injected, these fillers can help deliver nutrients that help the skin retain moisture, softness, and adds volume.  This includes the full line of Juvederm that we carry at TitleMD (Ultra, Ultra+, Voluma, Vollure, Vobella, Volux).

Benefits of Dermal Fillers

Dermal Fillers restore volume, smooth out wrinkles, and enhance facial features.   They offer several benefits, including:

  • Volume restoration: As we age, our skin tends to lose volume and elasticity. Dermal fillers can replenish lost volume in areas such as the cheeks, temples, under-eye area, and jawline, giving a more youthful and rejuvenated appearance.

  • Lip enhancement: Dermal fillers can be used to augment and enhance the shape and volume of the lips, providing a fuller and more defined look.

  • Assist in lifting sagging Jowls and lower face.

  • Elevate mid-face dropping and heaviness and restore volume to cheeks.

  • Soften acne scars: Dermal fillers can be used to fill in depressed acne scars, making them less noticeable and creating a smoother skin texture.

  • Minimal down-time:  Filler treatments can be elegantly performed during one visit with minimal down-time.

  • Long lasting effects: While the duration of results varies depending on the type and number of fillers used, many dermal fillers can provide noticeable improvements that last for several months to over a year. Periodic touch-ups can help maintain the effects.

  • Certain fillers have also been found to maintain or even accelerate the formation of new collagen.

Fillers versus Botox:  What's the Difference?

Botox and fillers are both cosmetic treatments used to reduce the appearance of wrinkles and enhance facial features. While they are often mentioned together, they have different mechanisms of action and purposes.

The main differences are:

Botox is a neurotoxin that when injected into specific muscles, temporarily relaxes them. Botox targets dynamic wrinkles, which are caused by repetitive muscle movements, such as frown lines, crow's feet, and forehead wrinkles. By relaxing the muscles, Botox reduces the appearance of these wrinkles and prevents them from deepening and may prevent them from becoming permanent.  Botox is most commonly used in the upper face.  The effects of Botox may last upwards of 3 months.

Dermal Fillers are injections placed beneath the skin to restore volume, smooth wrinkles, and enhance facial contours. They are primarily used for static wrinkles, which are visible even when the muscles are at rest. Fillers can be made of various materials, but are most commonly made from hyaluronic acid (HA Fillers). They add volume to areas such as the cheeks, lips, nasolabial folds (lines around the mouth), and marionette lines (lines from the corners of the mouth to the chin).  The effects of fillers may last 6-12 months depending on the location of treatment and specific type and number of syringes used.

What is the Best Lip Filler?

Hyaluronic Acid (HA) fillers are the most common type of filler used to provide volume and shape to the lip. There are many options within the family of HA fillers.  The filler that provides more natural flowing motion and volume will be selected at the time of your individualized consultation and exam.

What to Expect during your Filler Appointment?

On your personalized/individualized consultation, at one of our offices in either Manhattan or Queens,  Dr. Stacy or Dr. Craig will take a through history and exam and make an assessment on what areas can be best improved to provide a more natural and elegant youthful appearance.

Different treatment options will be provided.  You may view a series of before and after photos to demonstrate the improvements of fillers in different areas of the face.

Numbing medicine may be first applied  to make you feel more comfortable during your treatment.  Filler treatments typically take between 20 -30 minutes depending on the location of treatment and number of syringes used.

What is the after care following Filler Treatment?

After any aesthetic treatment, you should keep you face clean, this is true for dermal filler injections. You may wash your face and shower.  Avoid applying any makeup for the first day.

How long do Dermal Fillers Last?

The duration of fillers can vary depending on the type of filler used, the area of the body where it is injected, an individual's metabolism, and lifestyle factors.

In general, the duration of fillers ranges from several months to a year or more.

The most commonly used hyaluronic acid (HA) fillers last between 6 to 18 months. Certain factors can affect the longevity of these fillers.  Fillers injected into areas with frequent movement, like the lips, tend to break down more quickly due to constant muscle activity.

Individual experiences may vary and some people may metabolize fillers faster or slower than others.  Additionally, the desired level of correction and the amount of filler used can also influence the duration of the results.

Our clients have been thrilled with the results, which are immediately visible and last up to one year.
